Welcome to our Emotional Wellbeing Champion Page
At St Edward's, we believe that the emotional health and wellbeing of everyone is really important and that if we are not emotionally healthy and if we do not feel good, we will not be able to learn effectively.
The Department for Education recognises that, in order to help their pupils succeed, schools have a role to play in supporting them to be resilient and mentally healthy.
“Mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.” (World Health Organisation 2014)
To help promote emotional health and wellbeing and remind everybody of its importance, we have Emotional Wellbeing Champions. This is a group of Year Four children who have undertaken training led by RBWM's Wellbeing Team.
The Emotional Wellbeing Champions meet regularly with Mr Keohane, and are leading their own campaign throughout the year to promote and remind everyone of the importance of wellbeing and of how good emotional health and wellbeing can be realised.
