Grab Bag Menu from 15th April 2024
All pupils in both the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) are eligible for a free lunch every day, Universal Free School Meals which is a scheme provided by the Government until your child reaches the end of Year 2.
Lunches for KS2 pupils (Years 3 and 4) cost £2.35 per day / £11.75 per week and are provided by Wilson Jones. Parents pay for lunches via the school's online payments system. Payments, via WorldPay, are made directly to Wilson Jones. Please note that your bank statement will display 'Wilson Jones' for these payments.
However if you are in receipt of any of the benefits listed below, you may be entitled to Free School Meals for your child after Year 2 and the school may be able to apply for extra funding. Registering for free meals could raise valuable funds for the school to support the provision activities such as extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities.
Your child may be able to get Free School Meals if you receive any of the following:
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Universal Credit - your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Your child may also get Free School Meals if you receive any of these benefits and your child is both:
- Younger than the compulsory age for starting school
- In full-time education

In addition, the following pupils will be protected against losing their free school meals as follows:
• From 1 April 2018, all existing free school meals claimants will continue to receive free school meals whilst Universal Credit is rolled out. This will apply even if their earnings rise above the new threshold during that time.
• In addition, any child gaining eligibility for free school meals after 1 April 2018 will be protected against losing free school meals during the Universal Credit rollout period.
• Once Universal Credit is fully rolled out, any existing claimants that no longer meet the eligibility criteria at that point (because they are earning above the threshold or are no longer a recipient of Universal Credit) will continue to receive free school meals until the end of their current phase of education (i.e. primary or secondary).
