Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

At St Edward’s we welcome every child into our community in line with our school values to “see Jesus in everything we do”.

Our well-qualified and highly experienced teachers and teaching assistants work collaboratively to support children with SEND, whether in class, in small groups, or on a one-to-one basis. We also liaise closely with other professional services including Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and the Borough. Our SEND Co-ordinator is responsible for monitoring the progress of our children with SEND and ensuring that our provision is continually well-matched to every child's individual needs across the school. Parents are crucial to this process and are regularly included in discussions about their children's learning in school, and how they can support from home.

Under the Children and Families Act (2014), Local Authorities are required to publish information about services available to children with SEND. This is known as the 'Local Offer'. St Edward’s provides part of the Local Offer for Windsor and Maidenhead (https://rbwm.afcinfo.org.uk/local_offer).

If your child has a disability and you would like to know more about what we offer at St Edward’s First please read the information on our website and contact our SENDCo for further information.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator is Mr McKell. He is contactable via the school office or through email.
